Matthew Ferrara - "Real Estate, The Next Generation" - Keynote
Real Estate, the Next Generation is designed to strip away all of the old clichés and assumptions about how real estate should be done and prepare brokers for the future. Remember, most brokerage is “broken” today: the proof is in the continuing struggle for profit, the constant scurrying to recruit, the half-baked approaches to training and the futile resistance to technology that pervades most companies today. This presentation exposes all of that - and will help you leave it all behind.

Real Estate, the Next Generation isn’t about fixing brokerage. It’s about planning to compete in an industry that’s consumer-centric, tech-savvy and quality-centric. It starts by examining the modern buyer and sellers and asking, What do they want and how do they want it? Once brokers identify that the future consumer isn’t anything like the past consumer, they’ll be able to design strategies to be successful in a whole new marketplace.

Wendy Forsythe - "Why Recruiting Doesn't Work Anymore!"
Times have changed and we need to change the mindset of recruiting. What are today's sales professionals looking for and how do you go about attracting them to your company?

The National Association of Realtors is now offering its members an electronic signature service that provides a better option than driving across town to get a signature or forcing their clients to find a fax machine.

By automating the signing process, they achieve higher sales, increase client satisfaction and maintain a competitive edge. This session will examine how to use electronic signatures in real estate transactions, including the transaction flow from both the Realtor's and the homebuyer's perspective. Attendees will also learn how faxes can be incorporated into an electronic signing process.

Greg Hanson - "Technology in Real Estate: Agents and Consumer Connectivity "
While real estate is intensely personal, consumers are increasingly going to the web first to search for listings and talk to in-the trenches experts for advice, tips and more. In light of this growing trend, it's essential for real estate experts to use the web and sites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to their advantage, using these social portals to connect with customers and cultivate leads. Realtors are a social bunch by nature - many already taking advantage of networking groups, lunches, other in-person events to expand their sphere of influence. Networking tools such as Twitter, Facebook, etc. can expand this sphere to an even wider audience, increasing the level of agent and consumer connectivity. Even if these social portals don't yet drive a direct lead, they can help build relationships, which is one of the most important aspects of real estate.

In this presentation, Greg Hanson (Senior Vice President of RealEstate.com) will address the importance of agents not only interacting with each other across the country and across markets, but consumers being able to interface with agents, marketing department representatives and even other consumers to share their experiences, and enact change in the real estate industry as a whole.

Howie Jacobson - "Drive'em Home with AdWords!"
Adwords for Dummies author Howie Jacobson provides a quick course on the Google service that is transforming Web marketing. “For local businesses, especially, who want to be found on the Internet, Adwords is the quickest, simplest, easiest, most assured way of doing that,” says Jacobson. He explains how this “stock market for words” operates and unlocks the secrets for real estate agents to cash in. On one hand, Adwords can drive hot leads to your website. On the other hand, it can be used to improve your landing pages for better lead conversion. Jacobson knows and shares the tips to make these results happen. Using keywords is at the heart of the process, and Jacobson explains a way to evaluate keyword choices without spending a dime. His ideas cover how to improve an adwords campaign as well as the best strategy for ad follow-up. Besides telling what to do right, he cites two important mistakes to avoid. In this new age of Internet marketing, testing is just as important as it was with traditional direct mail. According to Jacobson, the Google system makes testing easy. With Google, savvy users can get answers within hours or days for tens or hundreds of dollars instead of taking months and spending thousands of dollars.

Jim Kimmons - "Great Marketing Tools for Little or Nothing"
Jim Kimmons, who serves as the Real Estate Guide at About.com, concentrates on helpful real estate tools and strategies that are available at little or no cost. For example, he names two specific cell phone tools that have improved his mobility and recommends several other high-efficiency tools he uses. When asked to identify the most effective lead generator for agents, Kimmons replies without hesitation, "I'm really biased on this one. If it's not already the best, it's going to be!" He refers to business and social networking and blogging. Kimmons explains how he has redesigned his own web site using a blog format to take advantage of the social media trend. He comments on his connections to three of the leading social media sites in particular. Kimmons also offers advice on a pay per click strategy to increase web site traffic and gives tips to improve drip e-mail.

If you compare the four economic benefits of ownership (cash flow, income tax savings, loan pay down paid by tenants and appreciation) for your current position and your new position, you can easily see which is the best way to go. We will show you how to compute the current four economic benefits and compare them in an easy format to the four benefits in the various new positions.

Alex Mandossian - "Harnessing the Power of Easy Web Meetings "
International web marketing expert Alex Mandossian focuses on a fast and easy strategy for expanding visibility with teleseminars and information marketing. “I don’t look at my telephone as a phone. I look at it as an ATM machine,” he says, identifying it as a piece of equipment that can generate more leads than most agents dream possible. Mandossian shifts the old-style one-on-one approach to a more efficient version that allows agents to qualify and prepare prospects before investing personal time. Towards that goal, he defines what a teleseminar is and outlines the steps a real estate professional needs to take to make this powerful technique work. Another simple way for agents to get information into the marketplace and to generate a lot of traffic for their own web sites is to write articles. Mandossian offers attendees tried-and-true guidelines for writing articles and gives both high-tech and low-tech syndication tips for extending their reach. He suggests a blogging resource for those who want to keep that process simple, and he identifies his favorite web site of all time.

Milstein outlines practical steps about how to build followers on Twitter as well as how to find people already on the site who are worth following. She emphasizes that it is important to make messages appealing, and she explains what kind of content meets that goal. Among the helpful tools she recommends are the Twitter Advanced Search page and a service that can coordinate postings on multiple social networking sites. Abe Murray - "Google, Don't Be Evil!"
In the lead interview, Abe Murray, product manager for Goggle Maps, introduces new ways for real estate professionals to bring customers in the door. According to Murray, "The company goal is always to get more information into [our index] and to let as many people see it as possible." Google mapping tools are an effective solution, and he lays out three specific ways that agents can take advantage of exposure on Google Maps. His tips include how to post listing information efficiently, both for Google Maps and primary Google searches. For those who prefer not to do-it-yourself, he recommends a free service available online. The problem is that email isn't always a great way to connect, coordinate and get things done--especially for real estate professionals. She concludes that it is vital for an agent’s site to be technologically competitive. Two of the technical features she explains are an expanded use of autoresponders and interactive mapping specific to real estate. Promoting a web site is also key, and Sweeney suggests two very different approaches to attracting website visitors—pay per click advertising and viral marketing. E-mail communication, which she defines as “permission marketing,” should follow the guidelines she presents, including the proper structure for a signature file.

Mollie Wasserman - "Tired of Working for Free? Then Stop Selling and Start Consulting!"
The changing role of the real estate professional along with the continued revolutionary growth in technology has made the traditional sales model that only offers a one-size-DOESN'T-fit-all package available only by commission, as outmoded as the typewriter.

In this fast-paced presentation, Mollie W. Wasserman, founder of the Accredited Consultant in Real Estate (ACRE ) Program shows how real estate professionals can avoid the commission cutting trap, eliminate competition from discount, MLS-Entry Only and FSBO companies, make additional income WITHOUT even selling or listing a house, and thrive in this economy by giving consumers what they are demanding while being paid fairly for their skills, expertise, and time.

Pat Zaby - "Low-Cost but High-Powered Marketing!"
International speaker, Pat Zaby, provides an array of low-to-no-cost marketing tips that focus on resources available online. "Most agents are trying to cut expenses, Zaby explains, "but unfortunately, what they have a tendency to do sometimes is cut things that would actually drive business to them. Marketing drives business, so you can't give up on it totally." He recommends cost-effective marketing alternatives, including several tools from the National Association of REALTORS . Zaby encourages agents to use their ingenuity to create their own Customer Appreciation Program (CAP). He defines that term and offers examples of possible benefits that have perceived value but cost no money. Both the CAP program and social networking tie into Zaby's concept of "permission marketing," a sensible way to approach building relationships and staying in touch with people. According to Zaby, it is possible to make money from social networking if it is used properly and if Real Estate professionals develop adequate Web follow-up. He also shares an innovative strategy for getting postcards out electronically and suggests places to find more marketing ideas and tips on efficient business practices.
